Bayern Munchen alright...

Well Diego Milito is the hero and for good reason, giving Internazionale Milano the win yesterday, against the flow of play for the most part, though we all knew this was by design. Mourinho is brilliant, that's definitely not in question any longer, though I still don't care for his style of coaching- both on and off the field. There's a little Phil Jackson, a little Bill Belichik in along with a healthy dose of the dark emperor Palpatine. Supposedly he heads to Real Madrid next, so watch out beloved Barca... young master Messi must prepare himself.

Speaking of Messi, how nice is it that Milito is an Argentine? If they didn't have chump change Maradona as a head coach, they might have a chance. Actually, they still do, but considering they barely qualified and that the team of so much talent has been rather poor in general in recent international play suggests the chance is slim.

Since this is probably the only post about the Champions League final, I couldn't forget to mention Arjen Robben - my god was he ready to go. Too bad Muller, Klose and others never really showed up. Then again, it helps when you put ten men behind the ball and dare the other team to try and get behind them.

Oh and the handball by Maicon? No big deal, right?

  1. Truer words have never been spoken. MourinHo is a dick to announce immediately after the match that he was sick of Italy. Upon further reading, I found out that he didn't even stay around long enough to celebrate Chelsea winning the Championship before leaving for Inter. Classy, eh?
Too bad Van Bommel was a Van Bummel...too slow(yes that pun was for you, Jon).

  2. Quotes from Capello about England's friendly versus Mexico (he loves Gerrard):

As well as England's defensive frailties, central midfield was also a particular area of concern for Capello.

The partnership of James Milner and Michael Carrick failed to make its mark, prompting Capello to move Gerrard into a more central position after half-time.

"I changed it after half-time and put Steven in the middle, where he played very well," added the coach.

"He is a really good player and can play in midfield, as a number 10, in lots of different positions."

  3. The classic conundrum - Who can orchestrate the English offense from the back to the front if you need to keep Gerrard (and you do) up front and attacking? Lamps? Carrick? Milner? I dunno...

I will say Glen Johnson in the back is the shit (scored) and he plays for those damn scousers (fuck yeah).

  4. Side note...talking with Booback and he sent me a link for Germany's jerseys. Nice.

So, I have decided that if the US does not make it to knock out stage that I am going to blame those shite jerseys. I am totally buying a Dempsey Fulham jersey and wear those on game days.
